Founded in 1983 as a bookmaker in the UK, Intertops has been operating for a good number of years (though not near as long as many in the UK.) They have the distinction of being the first online sportsbook however, having launched on the world wide web way back in January of 1996 during the age of dial up modems.
They have since launched both online casinos (Casino Red and Casino Classic) and a poker room to compliment their sportsbook, all of which can be accessed with the same universal login once you're signed up.
The two casinos operate on different software and have different games for the most part as such, but both are fairly popular (despite the name the 'classic' version is more modern and has a wider variety of games.) Note that downloadable software is available for Windows PCs.
Casino 'Red' is powered by Realtime Gaming. It has a good variety of table games, a respectable number of slot machines (though fewer than many, and a great selection of video poker games in single and multi-hand versions. Unfortunately, if you're looking for instant play, the majority of these games if played through the browser still operate using Flash, which is now depreciated and won't work on mobile devices or even most PC/Mac browsers (at least without some workarounds and security warnings.)
Also unfortunately, while they play fine - most of the games offered look fairly dated by today's standards. Not a deal breaker for most people, but if you're looking for cutting edge graphics and modern slots, you'll want to look elsewhere.
Casino 'Classic' was a later addition and offers games from a different provider WGS Technology, once again as both downloadable software and as browser based games. The slot variety is slightly larger than with their 'Red' casino and has completely different games available, the video poker selection is comparable between the two and both have a good spread of table games such as blackjack, baccarat, craps, red dog, roulette, pai gow, casino hold'em and more.
Intertops poker room is part of the 'Horizon Poker Network' which has only a few remaining operators, Intertops by far the most popular of them. Unfortunately the network as a whole has very few players, and most of them are playing at very low limits short of the occasional table or two. The poker room is available both as a download and as instant play for mobile devices.
Table games look and play very 'early 2000's' but work just fine otherwise, albeit with a somewhat limited game selection of Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo and a strange game called Telesina. The limited number of players are usually spread around low limit Texas Hold'em ring games, though scheduled and sit-and-go tournaments are also available (though anything past heads up games are hard to get started in the case of the latter.)
While they offer a wide variety of other gambling options between the casinos and poker room, at it's heart Intertops is first and foremost a sportsbook. As already mentioned they were in fact the first site to take sports betting online, and have maintained an excellent reputation with players around the world ever since.
Offering a wide variety of betting options to choose from and an impeccable payout reputation, one of the few complaints people have about wagering here is that the odds are fairly tight. This is to be expected at any sportsbook of this size, the sheer number of bets and the expertise of those making the odds means you'll be hard pressed to find any wagers 'out of line' with their actual odds.
Intertops has a variety of sign up bonuses depending on what you'd like to play, their sportsbook currently offers up to $200 free on initial deposits, their poker room offers a 200% sign up bonus, casino red and classic offer a 125% and 100% bonus respectively. While all of their gaming venues operate under a single wallet - terms and play through requirements will vary depending on which (if any) bonus you elect to take.
Ongoing bonuses for existing players are few and far-between, but are occasionally offered throughout the year, especially for sportsbook players when new seasons open up in various leagues.
As far as their game selection goes, casino players certainly have alternative options available with more variety - though there's nothing wrong with their current selection provided you don't need a huge selection of slots. Table games are more than adequate and video poker selections are good with high RTP averages.
I wouldn't suggest Intertops for poker players when other options are available in your region, there's simply not enough action at the tables for most people to find a table to their liking. That said, there's nothing wrong with playing occasionally here if you're already enjoying the casino and/or sportsbook using your existing balance.
For betting enthusiasts, their stellar reputation makes Intertops a must have in your sportsbook arsenal. Shop around for your best odds on that next big game sure, but you can be confident that you can't find a more solid sportsbook online than Intertops when you're happy with the odds.
